The latest Xerox printer drivers generate large (>4096 bytes) PJL headers. The following patches work around the problem by increasing the buffer size.

Is there a spec which defines a maximum for such things, or will this need to be increased again next time some vendor decides to make their PPDs specify longer and longer PJL headers?

Jon,

There isn't a spec for this.

Pieter,

Given that this will have a negative impact on memory usage in the scheduler and is only needed to support auto-typing of printer-ready files, I would not expect this fix to be incorporated any time soon. I will keep this bug open to track a potential future change to support larger/unbounded checks...
