We need translators for CUPS 1.2! The first beta release of CUPS 1.2 includes English and Japanese localizations. We'd like to include as many languages as possible when 1.2 goes stable.
If you'd like to contribute a translation, please read the translation guide on the documentation page:
http://www.cups.org/documentation.php/translation.html
Contributors will get their name in the CREDITS file and the gratitude of millions of CUPS users! Listing
Almost done on the french translation. Could use some help!!! Anybody out there has time to help... there is only half of the locale file to do but I'm lacking the time to complete.
I'd be glad to finish the translation. Also I'll make sure that the files are correctly encoded in utf-8 (the current CUPS version has problems with french accents in the web interface because of that). Can you please contact me: jonathan _AT_ ernstfamily.ch . Reply

Jens Stark might be, but I haven't heard anything back from him for several days... Reply
Most of the French translation is done, but I cant seem to make it work Is there a special procedure to compile the language in the software. Everything seem to get copied at the good place, but the system does not use the french files. Why??? Reply
You should be able to use:
LANG=fr lpstat -t
to see the French output from lpstat, or view the web pages in French by selecting French as your primary language in the browser setup.
Is that not working? Reply
I'll work on the Italian translation, if there's nobody else on it at the moment. Let me know! Reply
No one else has volunteered, go for it!
And thanks! :) Reply
Portuguese ... Are you working in that ? Reply
No one has volunteered to do that translation yet, no.
Thank you! Reply
